Chemical Peels

What are they and what do they do?
Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA) or Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHA) that penetrate deep into your pores and pull/push out all the impurities in your skin. Chemical peels can help firm and lift the skin, help diminish wrinkles and fine lines.

Lastly they can reduce

  • age spots
  • acne scars
  • hyper pigmentation and melasma

How do you know if you're a good candidate or not?
If you have any of the conditions stated above you are a great candidate for chemical peels, but this service isn't recommended for everyone. For those who have an active skin disease, broken skin, sunburns, or active herpes simplex/sores. Other contraindications are; if you are pregnant or nursing, clients who have been on accutane, have psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis or rosacea. And clients who use/used retina-a, renova or acid based products. (You must discontinue use for at least 14 days before a peel.)

Do they hurt?
No, but chemical peels can be uncomfortable. They can sting/tingle or feel like a slight warming sensation on the skin. Chemical peels should never be painful.

How many peels will I need to receive and how often?
Depending on your skin concerns you will need about 3-9 consecutive treatments, which will be done once every 3-4 weeks and once those are completed we recommend you coming in quarterly for maintenance.

Aftercare Instructions
Wearing sunscreen everyday is very important but is especially important after a chemical peel. Stay out of direct sun light for 48 hours. Also do not wear any face make up (i.e foundations, concealer, powder, blush, highlight) for 24 hours minimum. Do not exfoliate your skin for 14 days after a peel and lastly do not pick or peel the skin. Let it sloth off by itself.

Happy Peeling!
