Microdermabrasion

What is a microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive diamond head tip that removes the outermost layer of the epidermis. Once that dead skin is removed the layer of healthier looking skin is revealed. It also helps produce thicker, healthier skin layers and encourages the production of collagen and elastin which makes you look more youthful.

How do I know if microdermabrasion is the best choice for me?
If you have fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, sun damage, uneven pigmentation, clogged pores, skin texture, or minor scars you're a great candidate for microdermabrasion. If you have deep acne scars or active keloid or active acne microdermabrasion is not for you.

How many treatments will I need?
The amount of treatments will vary between every client but on average 3-9 treatments. We recommend one treatment every 3-4 weeks and once the recommended amount of treatments are completed we recommend you come in quarterly for maintenance. You will see a difference within the first treatment. Your skin will look more smooth and bright!

Does microdermabrasion hurt and what is the down time?
Microdermabrasion does NOT hurt but it can be uncomfortable. Because it is a diamond and and its being dragged across the face with suction it will leave you a little pink/red. (Depends on how sensitive your skin is) There is no down time with microdermabrasion but we do recommend you stay out direct sun light for the first 48 hours and use sunscreen every day.

What are the benefits of microdermabrasion?
Because the outermost layer of dead skin cells are removed it can help clogged pores and the products that you use on a daily basis can penetrate deeper into the skin instead of sitting on top of the dead skin. You'll be getting all the benefits you're spending your money on! Since microdermabrasion stimulates collagen and elastin it helps reduce fine lines/wrinkles. It also sloughs off hyperpigmentation/age spots and evens out the skin.

After Care Instructions

  • Always use sunscreen, but it is extremely important after a microdermabrasion.
  • Stay out of direct sun for the first 48 hours.
  • Do not exfoliate your skin until 14 days after the treatment.
  • Do not wear makeup for the first 7 days, if possible. A minimum of 24 hours before putting makeup on is a must.
