Everything A Client Needs To Know About Laser Hair Removal

We have expanded our beauty clinic to offer the latest technology in laser hair removal. Diolaze XL is an advanced laser hair removal procedure that safely and gently eliminates unwanted hair. Diolaze has one of the largest treatment spot sizes, making treatments convenient and fast.

How does it work?:

During laser treatment, a diode laser beam passes through the skin towards hair follicles. The penetrating energy then heats the root of the hair, which in turn prevents future hair growth.

Does it hurt?:

Diolaze has a built-in skin cooling surface which is one of the largest of all hair removal devices. This makes treatment more comfortable than other devices, with most patients noting that Diolaze is virtually painless.

How many sessions are required?:

With each treatment, hair is reduced and best results are observed after 4 to 6 sessions. The number of sessions will depend on your hair color, hair type, body area, and skin tone.

What area can I treat?:

Diolaze can be safely used on most areas of the body that have unwanted hair. Most commonly treated areas include bikini, legs, arms, chest, back, shoulders, stomach, neck, chin, and sideburns.

Before Care Instructions:

  • Avoid laser hair removal if pregnant or nursing.

  • Discontinue waxing, tweezing, threading, depilatories and electrolysis for at least 3 -4 weeks before your treatment and throughout treatment.

  • Stop retinoids 4 weeks before your treatment unless otherwise advised.

  • Avoid sun tanning at least 30 days before your treatment. Any patient with a significant tan or sunburn may be rescheduled due to the sensitivity of the procedure to altered skin color and for the sake of your safety.

  • Avoid spray tan and self-tanners for at least 14 days before your treatment.

  • Shave the area to be treated with laser 1-2 days before your appointment. You can shave as often as desired between laser treatments.

  • Avoid applying makeup on the day of treatment if getting laser hair removal on the face.

  • If you have a history of cold sores, please let the provider know. Caution is advised to persons with a history of herpes in the treatment area. Those who carry the herpes virus and receive laser treatment on their upper lip, chin, or lower cheeks may have a “flare-up” of their condition. The risk of this complication can be reduced if you take prescribed antiviral medication in the office on the day of your treatment, which we can provide to you. If you have an active herpes outbreak, your appointment must be rescheduled.

Aftercare Instructions:

  • The treatment area is very delicate and should be treated gently. It is common to experience slight swelling and redness at the treatment site.

  • You may apply cold compresses or ice packs to the treated area to ease discomfort.

  • Avoid direct sun exposure to treated areas for at least one-week post-treatment and all signs of redness and irritation have subsided. Always wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 30 daily, and reapply as directed.

  • Avoid any deep exfoliation treatments or creams containing a chemical exfoliator for 2 weeks pre and post-treatment such as microdermabrasion, retinoids, or glycolic acid. If you are treating an area on your face with laser hair removal.

  • Avoid trauma to the treatment area such as scratching, picking, or rubbing.

  • Avoid pools, hot tubs, jacuzzis, saunas, and steam rooms for 3 weeks.
