Our Professional Position on Microblading vs NanoBrows
Why We Do Not Routinely Recommend Microblading
While microblading is widely known, it is not our preferred eyebrow technique at Denver Dream Med Spa due to long-term skin health considerations and limited candidacy.
Microblading is a manual technique that uses a blade to create hair-like cuts in the skin. Although it can look appealing initially, clinical and long-term observations have shown that:
Microblading involves larger, deeper incisions in the skin
Repeated passes increase the risk of scar tissue formation
Pigment can blur or spread over time, especially in certain skin types
Long-term results may compromise future correction or removal options
Because microblading relies on controlled skin trauma, it carries a higher risk of:
Permanent texture changes
Patchy pigment retention
Color distortion as the skin heals and ages
Why Only a Small Percentage of Skin Types Are True Candidates for Microblading
From a clinical standpoint, very few clients are ideal candidates for microblading.
Microblading may only be appropriate for individuals with:
Very dry, non-porous skin
Minimal oil production
Younger skin with strong elasticity
No history of scarring or sensitivity
Even within this group, results are not guaranteed to age well long-term.
For many clients — especially those with oily, combination, mature, sensitive, or high-melanin skin — microblading carries an increased risk of:
Blurring
Poor pigment retention
Scar tissue development
For this reason, we do not routinely recommend it as a first-line technique.
Why We Prefer NanoBrows
At Denver Dream Med Spa, NanoBrows are our preferred eyebrow enhancement technique because they offer:
Greater precision with minimal skin trauma
Machine-controlled implantation rather than manual cutting
Reduced risk of scarring
Better pigment retention across a wider range of skin types
Softer, more natural aging over time
NanoBrows use a single, ultra-fine needle to implant pigment into the skin with controlled depth and speed, allowing for:
Hair-stroke realism
Improved consistency
Safer outcomes for more clients
This technique is especially well-suited for:
Oily or combination skin
Mature skin
Sensitive skin
Clients seeking natural, long-term results
Our Philosophy: Skin Health Comes First
Our recommendation against routine microblading is based on:
Long-term skin integrity
Predictable healing
Future correction flexibility
Overall client safety
We prioritize techniques that:
Age gracefully with the skin
Preserve tissue health
Reduce the likelihood of complications
While microblading may still be discussed during consultation, NanoBrows and advanced machine techniques are our standard of care.
Clinical Summary
Microblading is not inherently unsafe, but it is not appropriate for the majority of skin types and carries a higher risk of scarring and long-term pigment distortion.
For this reason, Denver Dream Med Spa:
Does not routinely recommend microblading
Carefully screens candidacy when discussed
Prefers NanoBrows for safer, more consistent, long-term results
Our approach reflects a medical-esthetic standard focused on skin health, longevity, and natural outcomes — not trends.
